Senior Data Analyst

Introduction

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Analytics practice, where you will take ownership of complex, ambiguous problems and turn them into clear, data-driven answers. Combining strong SQL and Python skills with prior experience in retail industry and sound judgement to deliver insights that hold up under scrutiny — largely independently, with support from the wider team when you need it.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyze large and often messy datasets using SQL and Python to generate actionable business insights.
• Own end-to-end delivery of analytics tasks and projects — from requirement gathering to final insight — with minimal supervision.
• Apply structured problem-solving to diagnose ambiguous business and data questions, and defend your approach to stakeholders.
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders, including in person at the Bangalore client office, to clarify requirements and present findings.
• Mentor junior analysts, reviewing their work and sharing good practices in SQL, Python, and analytical thinking.
• Translate open-ended business questions into well-defined analytical frameworks and clear, structured deliverables.
• Partner with cross-functional teams — engineering, product, and delivery — to put analytical outputs into practice.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, documentation, and reproducibility across your work.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a data or business analytics role, with hands-on project delivery.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing large datasets.
• Solid working knowledge of Python for analysis, scripting, or lightweight automation.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability — comfortable structuring unclear problems and justifying a recommended approach.
• Proven ability to work independently, managing your own priorities and timelines with limited oversight.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working directly with client or business stakeholders to gather requirements and present analysis.

• Technical Skills — Statistical analysis, data wrangling, exploratory data analysis, hypothesis-driven problem solving.
• Tools & Technologies — SQL, Python (pandas/NumPy), Excel, BI/visualization tools, and MS PowerPoint for presenting findings.
• Soft Skills — Independent ownership, clear communication, stakeholder management, attention to detail.

Preferred / Good to Have

• Familiarity with adjacent cloud data platforms such as Redshift or Databricks.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Prior experience in a client-facing, onsite delivery model.
• Exposure to Retail Industry.
• Relevant certifications in data analytics, SQL, or cloud platforms.
