Background
One of the world’s largest Christian television networks and America’s most-watched faith-and-family channel has delivered inspirational, life-changing programming since 1973. From a single Los Angeles station, it has expanded into a global family of over 30 networks, broadcasting 24/7 with diverse content. To sustain its leadership in faith-based media, the network teamed up with Robosoft to optimize operations and harness actionable insights from its extensive data ecosystem.
The challenges
Transactional and subscription video on demand (TVOD & SVOD) Required seamless purchasing flows for TVOD and a centralized subscription management system for SVOD across multiple platforms (Apple, Android, Amazon, LG, Samsung Tizen) via their Payment Provider Proxy (PPP).
Content management A unified system was needed to organize and deliver content feeds from Media Backstage (MBS) to apps using Applicaster’s Curation API.
Centralized Push Notifications Admins struggled with Firebase-based push notifications, needing an automated, MBS-integrated solution with media readiness checks.
Data centralization & insights derivation Data from JWPlayer, Brightcove, Publica, and Google Analytics—covering streaming stats, ad metrics, revenue, and subscriptions—was fragmented, hindering unified insights.

Built a centralized system supporting TVOD and SVOD across Apple (mobile, TV), Android (mobile, TV), Amazon FireTV, Roku CTV, and more, ensuring seamless integration and auditing.

Enabled cross-synchronization between MBS and JWPlayer, with content stored in DynamoDB for streamlined delivery.
Centralized push notifications
Added MBS-integrated push notification system using AWS EventBridge and Firebase, auto-deactivating unready media notifications for better efficiency.
Analytics dashboard
Established a centralized data lake on Snowflake, pulling real-time data from diverse sources. A React-based dashboard offers curated, clean insights tailored to user needs.
